My name is Gerald F. Zirbel.
I was born and raised in Detroit Lakes and moved to Montana in 1976, where I attended Helena Vocational School and studied residential constructions/new home building. Returning to DL, I worked with three highly-respected area contractors for a several years, including time with a nonprofit that sent me to energy discloser auditing classes, where I was qualified as an energy auditor. Although I was not licensed or bonded, and never contracted as an auditor, I learned a great deal about many energy concepts, including insulating, ventilation, windows and the proper sizing of HV-AC, all of which ensure that your house operates like a well-oiled machine.

With a passion for design and a natural talent for crafting and building, I have dedicated my life to the construction trade. The years have flown by, and I’m now working with a team of younger craftsmen and the finest of subcontractors. Together we insist on quality, respect all people and treat everyone’s property as we would our own.
Our mission statement is “do your best work and be good to people.” I have found that if you do your best work, you’re always getting better – which is true in both crafting and communicating, both of which are vital to building your dream home.
Fritz is also a good businessman. He was good at sticking to a schedule, informing us of upcoming timelines that required our input, and keeping us informed about the progress or any delays in the project. In addition, he met with our neighbors to inform them of any upcoming concerns or inconveniences that arise with construction. Whether you are building a large home or have a smaller project in mind, we would recommend Fritz Zirbel Construction.
